My Favourite Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
I promised this recipe to a couple people on my Instagram, @theislandbaker, and I keep forgetting so I decided to post it here so those people can check it out as well as anyone who is interested in making them. This is the recipe I follow when I make chocolate chip cookies and it has become my favourite recipe.
You'll need:
- 100g caster sugar
- 110g soft brown sugar
- 100g chocolate chips
- 110g of oats
- 165g plain flour
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 125g melted butter
The following ingredients are optional but when I have them in the house I often add one or two of them in:
- A teaspoon cinnamon
- Plain chocolate M&Ms or Smarties
- Chopped Nuts
- Raisins
- Colourful sprinkles
Step 1:
Measure out all the dry ingredients out and put them into a large bowl.
Step 2:
Add the egg and the melted butter.
Mix everything together.
Step 3:
Roll into balls about the size of the walnut, you can do bigger if you like larger sized cookies. Then placed on a lined baking sheet. Leave a space around each ball because the cookies do spread.
Step 4:
Bake at 175°C for 10-12 minutes.
Leave to cool once taken out.
The cookies crisp up as they cool down, but they do stay chewy in their centre.

I love this recipe and have made them as regular sized cookies, and as a giant cookie and they have always gone down a treat.
